If we are going to attract new businesses and families to Macomb , we must make our neighborhood streets and public places attractive.
I have worked with volunteers to improve the image of several locations in the district by weeding and planting perennial plants that are drought resistant and take minimal maintenance. This spring/summer take a look at:
the bridge overpass at Groesbeck & Metro Parkway along the bike path,
the Gratiot frontage of Mount Clemens Middle School and
the railroad crossing at Cass/Groesbeck.
Thanks to an Arbor Day Grant, we have funding to plant additional trees along the bike path on Metropolitan Beach Parkway. Now all we need are HELPERS TO DO THE TREE PLANTING!
When: Tuesday, June 2 at 5:00 p.m.
Where: Meet at 16 & Harper on the bike path (south side of Metro Parkway)
What to Bring: Garden gloves, large shovels, wheel barrels

BEAUTIFICATION PROJECTS THAT NEED VOLUNTEERS:
We'll be weeding and planting at these sites. Bring garden gloves and a small spade shovel if you have one.
